It would be nice to have the link and title of the topic the last post is in (or the topic of last post, if the posts get parent topic (with Re: eventually)), at the bottom of the page, like in YaBB (old forum).

Quite possibly... :)
The data is there in the "Interests" field for your UserID, I just need to figure out what Mod I can use to grab that data.

So, instead of the front page saying something like

Threads Posts Last Post
General Discussion 153 2048 23 Sep 2005 09:16
Spec8472

It'd be like

Threads Posts Last Post

23 Sep 2005 09:16
Spec8472

Spec8472, could you please tell what extensions are installed, as some extensions requires some other extensions (like requiring Multiple BBCode MOD)? TIA.

I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you... or go looking in the source.

I did have a list somewhere of the mods I was going to install (I think you linked to a bunch), and I'd installed one or two...

They were around the BBCode things, but no multi-bbcode mod.

At the moment, I think the only Mod I can see installed is the strikeout text mod.

(They really need to come up with a better way of modding this kind of stuff)

You should install then EasyMOD, which is an automatic MOD installer. It will take a MOD that follows the phpBB MODing guidelines and automatically make all changes necessary to install the MOD. Although I'm not sure if it keeps the list of installed MODs: it is probable (there is something written about MOD control panel).

As to how check which extensions (MODs) have you installed: if installed by hand, check the diff to bare phpBB install. If installed bye EasyMOD, check admin/mods (sub)directory.

Yeah. I'm sure you're already working on it, spec, but I'd appreciate it if you could figure that bug (or whatever it is) out. I've been a member of this forum for a while, and seeing "Be nice to me, I'm new" under my name with no way to change it is... distressing (he says, trying to keep it polite).

"Be nice to me, I'm new" is if I am not mistaken the rank. Up till 50 posts here.

Ah. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Pity, I rather liked the previous titles for rankings.

Then ask admin(s) to change them. I rather liked the Sorcery derived ranks: Novice, Initiate, Sorcerer,...

*Nods* Me too.

On that note: *Looks to the admins* Would ya'all mind changing the ranks back? I don't know if you can do it individually, but if for some reason you don't want to make a 'general' change I'd just be happy with having my 'novice' back.

OK, so - name the ranks (it's possible to insert/remove more ranks based post count)

1: Novice
50: Initiate
100: Sorcerer
150: Da'Shar?
250: Sui'Kin?
500:
1000: Consumed?
