The creator god doesn't have so much power atm, what happened is The One god so many followers and had so much power he could twist the universe into somewhat of his own image kinda changing the rules the creator god set.

Ah, so the creator God didn't set strigent enough rules when this world was created, which allowed the One to bend reality.

His own fault then.

Actually, didn't Tarrin say something about this?? That the creator god just isn't paying any attention at all.

A-ha, found it, Chapter 6 of Sword of Fire:
I wonder why the first god here doesnt do anything, Sarraya mused.

Odds are, he simply doesnt care, Tarrin shrugged.  A god whose primary focus is keeping the universe running usually doesnt have time to pay attention to the little things like the One.

Tell me if I'm wrong Greymist, but wouldn't the Creator god be an elder god? And Elder gods do not depend on Mortals for there power.

Edit: Lochar, pass the pipe back.. stop hogging... :P

God damn it, he went and changed the story line on me.

Still as is evident by the latest chapter (17) the one did have a hold on the land which is because he had mondo power from uber number of worshipers.

Phantom
And in the fury of this darkest hour
I will be your light
A lifetime for this destiny
For I am Winter born
And in this moment..I will not run
It is my place to stand
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands
(bloodied hands)
And in our Dying, we're more alive-than we have ever been
I've lived for these few seconds
For I am Winter born
