I don't often single out readers on these boards, but this time, I just have to.
Staff Sergeant (name withheld for privacy), THANK YOU for your postcard. It meant much more to me than I think you realize.
You see, I'm an Air Force vet myself, and to know that I brought a little entertainment and happiness to one of our brave military members serving in Afghanistan, well, there's not much more I can say about how honored I feel.
Don't ever think that we back here at home don't honor your commitment, your courage, or your sacrifice. We exist as a nation because of you, and we thank you for that service every time we wake up in the morning in a free nation.
It may just be a piece of cardboard torn from an MRE carton, nothing but plain old brown and a little worn-out, but to me, it's worth its weight in gold, and it's one of the most beautiful cards in my collection. It tells me that I've made someone who protects me and my freedoms feel maybe just a little bit better, and there's few things that a humble author like myself could hope to accomplish.
/salute.

Hear hear! Keep up the great work! Hats off to our men and women in uniform. True Americans appreciate the sacrifice that our armed services make for us day in and day out.
