Alpha Project -- Possible spinoff ?
I happen to like some of the premises used in Alpha Project and while I was sitting in the emergency room today I got thinking about it and made some notes. Anyone think it might be worthwhile project for the 'Community Contributed Stories' section? I should warn you that the chapters are liable to vary in length from very short to quite long and it may be a long time between additions. I am writing on other stories which won't appear here, so 'Thor's Child' will be something I use to fill in while I'm not busy.
I will be writing the tale, but I would like to know if anyone does like the idea. If no one wants to read it here, I'll post it somewhere else -- I'm just giving this group first dibs since Fel's story gave me the idea.

I'm certainly interested! Besides, you can post it in multiple locations so long as it is your own work.

Yes, I'd like to read it too.
Will you point to us your other stories?

I am looking forward to reading it. To echo someone else... please post links to your other stories.

What actually happened was that George Dubya Bush saw an Iraqi maths teacher carrying a geometry set, accused him of being a member of the notorious Al-gebra movement, and charged him with possessing weapons of maths instruction.

Well, I may get some writing done tonight - to be honest I'm fighting off arthritis right now, so typing is slow (and painful.) As for my work, most of it has been published in magazines and periodicals for the last few years, so little of it is online. Then too I yanked a lot of what was written on the internet a few years ago - a personal thing with a few of the big domain names, a political party and a church. LOL. You see amongst other things, I've written some 'erotica' so much of what I wrote came awfully close to being under the scope of a few of the more militant 'churchish' or neopolitical organizations in the US. (A friend of mine in the US was even taken to court over what he wrote and is now banned from using the internet, but I will admit some of what he wrote was pretty darn 'rough' - far closer to 'porn' than mine.)afrigeek wrote:I am looking forward to reading it. Over the years I have used various names when I wrote online - seven of them I think. One of my remaining online pseudonyms is dotB and you can find most of the stories which are still online at either SoL or ASSTR, but be warned, what you'll find there is definitely erotica. There hasn't been anything new added there in years though - as I said earlier my health hasn't been very good for the past while, so writing has been sporadic -- anything that was written in recent years was aimed at paying my bills, which means it was 'under contract or site-specific' and will probably never appear online as 'mine.'

I loved Car54 Great story. Huntman omen is even better. I'm still hoping to read more of it one day.

Not to take anything away from Fel at all, but dotB's stories were always my favorites. You, Gina Marie and Fel are probably 3 of my top five favorite authors, in print and on line.
Thanks for sharing with us, I had wondered what was up with you.
See nothing at your site / forum of late.

GBLW, just to continue the talk.
I wasn't referring to your plot, but to the writing style. For example there's a 5line paragraph where you can read "the old couple" maybe 7-8 times. And you mention a lot of people doing "chores", but never give details. It isn't really important but after reading about "chores" 5-6 times with no clarification it repetitive. Of course it's not interesting and no one cares about the specifics, but little unimportant description makes the story more real.
Again I'm not criticizing. I know what a pain in the ass editing is. It takes me longer to edit my stories than to write them. When I'm not too lazy to write, that is.
I like the plot btw, the begging anyway.
