question about the kimdori

I have a question conserning the interation with the various kimdori so far reveled in Subjugation so far.
when he was first scanned, for lack of better term, it didn't 'hurt'. and when 'kate' scan's him from time to time it's more like she's gleaning certain information. where as when he encounter's the 'lone' kimdori on the faey homeworld he reacts to it like the information transfer hurt jason.
sorry if i'm reading too much into it.

I think he was just stunned by the sharing, when he shared before, they had to hide themselves, when he shared with the kimdori on the homeworld, it was his first experience with a full sharing...

That was my take on it as well .......it wasn't Pain as much as suprise

the Way i saw 'kate' scan's were as sort of a Greeting or checking to make sure he was keeping his word (their Secrets)
I guess it could have been sort of like a information update ....or it's a Normal Way Kimdori greet each other.
we have yet to see many examples of Kindori interacting with other Kimdori..... but remember Jason is one of kind a kind it seems ....he actualy a member of the Pack/Clan ....Family
