The Sennadar notebook

Fel,

You've stated several times that you've got a notebook with all of your Sennadar notes in it.

Can I have the conversion rules for D&D? I'd love to DM a game in the universe, but it's going to be hell rebuilding your rule set just from the story.

Most of what's in the story can't really convert well into D&D, cause it's based on rules that violate the standards. ;)

I DID have Sorcerers in my game world, but they were very simplistic compared to the books. They obeyed many of the same rules as magic-users, and their spells were the same as mages, with only a few unique spells...and of course, mages couldn't use Illusion school magic, and in the game, sorcerers couldn't access the Conjuration school. That made it a little more interesting.

To maintain balance between the two, I ruled that Sorcerers enacted Magelight whenever they cast spells, to give a visible indicator that they were using magic that mirrored the chanting of a mage that gives away what they're doing. Having a magic-user whose spells were completely undetectable was unbalancing.

What I did not have in my world were Druids in the form I have them in the book. They are exclusively a product of my writing, not the game world upon which the writing is based. ;)

Most of my notebook's irrelevant now anyway, lol...I've changed so much, even moved entire kingdoms, it looks nothing like the Sennadar from my binders.

Fel,

On a related note, do you have a map of Sennadar? I know you gave very good descriptions in the books, but I want to see if my mental map matches (or even comes close) to what you were thinking of when you wrote the books.

Ah. I guess I'm not surprised, considering how almost absolutely overpowered magic users are in Sennadar.

Oh well, rules for Da'shar would have been hell to come up with anyways. Thanks.

I can see it now...

4/1 attack
5d20 +200 damage (1000 if Suikun)

But to balance it out you'd have to have like a 14 AC or something...

More likely Sui'kun is a template that you cannot get, and Da'shar is required to go beyond level 10 Sorcerer. Remember, all Sorcerer's plateaued before they could face being Consumed.

Great, now I'm gonna have to do it. Bastard.

Yeah, yeah.

Cerics and wizards translate decently easy. Druids and Sorcerers are a pita though, considering how they can drop other spellcasters.

I'm going to have to do something for the melee classes though, as the casters are able to absolutely rule the world at the moment.

And Vendari are not a PC race.

Heavy armor is a specialization that is given to all Fighters.

This is D&D 3.5e. And the result of boredom at work.

Also, I went ahead and created Tarrin's character sheet. I'm not sure I made it strong enough though...

Except Tarrin's "Hair" is blonde.... his fur is black...

Sorry, couldn't resist...

I've never really played 3.5, so some of that stuff is unfamiliar to me...

I don't play D&D, so I can't presume to tell you how, but I think you missed the Languages he picked up in pyrosia...
all the other details I think are wrong are likely due to my inexperience with D&D...
