Tarrin & Sword of Fire (Chapter 18 SPOILERS)

In battle with The One and Demon Lord in chapter 18 of "Sword of Fire" Tarrin has put all his divine power into Sword of Fire artifact, losing his wings (which were a symbol of his power) in the process.
[*]First discrepancy: after losing wings of fire Tarrin couldn't fly on his own. The One took advantage of this (for a moment). But he could ask sword to fly him, like the sword transported Mist (with unconsious Kimmie). Although I don't think it would be great idea to fight while flied by the sword releasing grip on it would result in fall and probably death or at least heavy hurt.
Then Tarrin broke the Sword of Fire. (How he managed that? It was 1.) made of unnamed black metal, highly heat resistant, probably very, very hard to break 2.) as an Artifact it could have been simply unbreakable. Maybe he willed it to break). Thus he locked away his divine power. Originally he planned to do this before returning to Sennadar, to show Gods that he wont be a problem. But he did it earlier to force Demons Lord hand, which ultimately resulted in his death while using All (and not Sorcery with pulling power via the sword and his divine powers).
[*]Second discrepancy: Tarin presents/look like demigod to archon's (?) eyes, leaking power somewhat, on Gods plane (Multiplane, Sigil, Planescape,...). So it seems that he has (at least outside mortal word) his power. Possible explanation: Sword of Fire, after putting all divine power into it, became Tarrin's "icon" of sorts; when broken it affected his possibility of manifesting powers on mortal plane (like destroing icon of The One). I wonder if Tarrin would have his full divine-aided shapeshifting abilities (with energy signatures, so he could shapeshift to Archon; I wonder what would happen if he met Deva or Planetar and touched it), and his wings.
Edit: corrected title
