looking for a story on SOL, any help appreciated.

young man creates an A.I. at a company he works at. Girlfriend joins in. A.I. protects them when they go on the run. Eventually A.I. builds a ship and a computer containment for them to travel to the stars.

All I can remember. My searches haven't found it.

It might not be the story, but it is quite similar in some ways and is certainly worth a read.

No, not Island Mine. The girl finds out about the AI the day after the guy finishes writing the code. They both work for some company that has business with the government. Oh and she is alive with him at the end. I did really enjoy "Island Mine" though!!!!

For a 'AI' story, might try "Zeus and Io" by "Harry Carton" on SOL.

It's not the one you are looking for, (which I would like to read when you find it), but it's pretty good.

In fact, I think I will read it again. Now.

This story on SOL by Colin Barrett fits your description, but it's in progress and only posted up to chapter 5. Perhapes the Author has posted the complete story elsewhere?

I realize this is like 6 months later, but this also sounds like "The Fate of Terra" although IIRC that was from Lit, not SOL. More sex than story, anyways.

Apparently this is a pretty damn common storyline, lol.
