I never suggested that Scion magic be shared with humans, the foci should stay with the dragons. SAy they use one of those near by empty Islands, and build a Scion terminal, and each gate leads to a different airport. It would allow them access to a great number of humans to see if exposure to ED make more wizards and find more potential mages. They would have literally have thousands of people pass through everyday, so could find many over the years.

I just had this idea, there are crystals that detect wards, so I wonder if there could be crystals to find drugs? Imagine it, customs carry crystals which light up near a particular drug. So no matter how well it is hidden, the drugs will be found. The only way to block it being used would be spells of non finding, and they would still have to pass normal security

Pardon my asking, but considering how humans have treated dragons in the past, why would they volunteer to help on a problem which would require them to expose themselves to the public? I'm quite certain the dragons will want to keep an EXTREMELY low profile and doing anything of the sort you have suggested is definitely NOT low profile.

I probably shouldn't even mention this at all... but given how just about anything and everything is eventually used in some fashion or another for sex and/or porn, I wonder how long it would be before people found a way to use magic to that end. I can just see some levitation spells getting used for some zero-g action. I'm sure others could come up with something much more inventive. I wonder what the dragons think of porn. There is ZERO chance they haven't come across it during their exploration of the web. Who knows, maybe the dragons have their own perverted spells... LOL..! Yeah... It's about 3:30 am here. I'm going to bed now for some nice, clean, un-perverted sleep. Yep.

That reminds me of a part in one of the Sennadar books, where Tarrin and co were on their way to the island which held the staff. They came across a ship, and in one the spell books there was a wizard spell to pleasure ones self :P

Here's another possibility for that wonderful CD - The EDs could burrow a nice deep hole for him with a comfortable chamber at the bottom, fresh air and water supply, push the CD in, and close it up - see how long he lasts, even with air, water, and food, when his magic goes dry from all that rock insulation!

If magic allows shape shifting, could there be magic that allows for body modification? Plastic surgeons are paid really well for the enhancements they do, wizard could do better. If they have a way to help people loose weight quickly, they could mint money.

Sandblast dragon breath would take the weight off toot sweet and without the burning long pig smell of the lava breath.

Why not run railway tracks through the scions? A shunting yard would probably do less damage than a deep water harbour, and I doubt the Dragon's abilities to operate one without substantial human assistance.

Importing coke is an extremely silly idea. So is expecting humans to eagerly exchange technology and refined material for beads and baubles; even glowy ones. Trying to con a con-man is almost always a tricky proposition. As a manipulative jerk, the Chromatic councilor really should understand this. I wonder if he can leverage it into a working arguement?

Yet, China has been selling us cheap plastic beads and baubles for years, and we're still buying the stuff. In literal fact. Actual magical items, cheap or not, would sell quite well, so I don't think it's too silly. Never underestimate the power of novelty and cheapness to drive a sale.

I'm not saying that we won't buy the stuff, but that we won't pay for it with stealth bombers. Every reason they give for them not wanting to be dependent on us applies to us as well. Except more so. We wouldn't be to shop around.

Wait a second, what would you pay for a light that followed you around from room to room, even outside, wasn't connected to the electrical grid and turned on and off, as well as brightened or dimmed at your vocal command? Effectively that eliminates every light bulb in your house and slashes 'H' out of your electric bill. Even if it was considered a novelty there would be tens of thousands of people who would want one and while each novice magician could turn out two dozen a day there would still be a major shortage. You know the rule of supply and demand as well as I do. The price of those lights would be dang high.

After the sale, what the dragons do with the money is their business. Personally I'd suggest landing all 'supplies' to the island on a separate island and asking the water dragons to install a magical propulsion device to an old barge though. Diplomats or student coming to the island is one thing, but common seamen? Let's not forget that the magic method of hiding the island no longer works after a person has actually seen it.

They aready, in effect, have stealth bombers. Give an AD a rock or a bomb and tell them where to drop it.

I can just imagine the website the ED can make to sell their goods. THey could potentially pay america for all their assistance and use the extra to restore and improve on the island.

If any of those islands are totatlly barren, or there are rocks or reef near enough to the surface, they could build a structure similar to an oil drilling platform but for dragon use and far bigger.

WIth all those extra clear foci, they could potentially makes a bunch of island lost to humans near by. So not necessarily have to be centralised.

Use the sea entrance to sanctuary, rebuild it as a docking area. Why not buy a ship to act as the doccks, moving stuff when needed.

The only problem is the Super heated Air that goes along with it.......OUCH!
And in the fury of this darkest hour
I will be your light
A lifetime for this destiny
For I am Winter born
And in this moment..I will not run
It is my place to stand
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands
(bloodied hands)
And in our Dying, we're more alive-than we have ever been
I've lived for these few seconds
For I am Winter born
