update...I swear this is becoming a running gag.

I hope to have walker21 done sometime this weekend.

Since it's really just the second half of chapter 20, it won't be all that long. It's just been very difficult for me to write, because a lot of things converge in this one, and some of the hidden things going on become apparent. How they fit in with what you've seen is making things trickier to piece together than I expected.

Chapter 22 will be the last chapter of Shadow Walker.

After that, I'll start Secession.

I'm happy with any updates. I love all of Fel's stories.

An aside: What i find most interesting about these Arcan/Walker stories is that in Sennadar and Subjugation most decisions are governed by the rules of the universe but with Kyven's world there are less rules and more limits. Tarrin and Jason have the power to unmake the world but Kyven is not the most powerful or influential person in Noraam he is just applying his abilities judiciously. The contrast is intriguing [to me].

Good point.

You have a very good point. In subjugation, Jason, while dealing with amazingly fantastic tech, is still human, still a young man learning his way in the world, finding love, dealing with the complexities of life and, yes, working with awesomely cool stuff.

In the walker series, we still have some of the same "finding your place in the world"stuff, but the world is so vastly different than what we the readers are used to that it is a very unique experience.

I think the stories of Jason are my favorite mostly because I am a geek computer guy, and love all the high tech stuff he gets to play with, but all of Fel's writing is incredibly great.

I'm always amused by the fact that women are always in the seats of power in Fel's stories.

Firewing is female, Kyven is doing everything for a woman, the shadow fox is female.

Tarrin's patron was a goddess, he identified more with his mother, Dolanna, were-cat society is matriarchal.

Jason. 90% of the leaders of the Alliance are female, with the Faey and bugs (can't recall the name offhand) being run by the females, etc.

That is another interesting point as well.
Perhaps though you might be implying that our beloved FEL might just be a little bit hen pecked as well.

Not getting into that, just noting that I can pull several common threads from almost all of his stories.

The only story so far that doesn't have the main male character with multiple women is Kit, and that's because it's set in the real world, more or less.

So you're saying Fel dreams of being hen pecked, but in reality he isn't? :P

Even Kit is surrounded by strong females. His sister is the super-CEO. His mother-in-law is a strong influence in her own sphere. The female cousins may need guidance, but they all wield significant power, et cetera.

Sure, the character structure of Fel's stories is often a bit formulaic, but we still burn through chapters like no tomorrow! I'm willing to overlook the little flaws for the greater story.

I meant multiple women as in with them biblically.
