Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Post by Spec8472 »

Havn't seen it yet, I'm kinda mixed on whether I want to go.

At first I was all "It's a Michael Bay Film, ofcourse it's going to be terrible"

Then I read Roger Ebert's review:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments. One of these involves a dog-like robot humping the leg of the heroine. Such are the meager joys. If you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then close your eyes and use your imagination
So, yeah, reassuring... but then I read IO9's fantastic review:
Imagine that you went back in time to the late 1960s and found Terry Gilliam, fresh from doing his weird low-fi collage/animations for Monty Python. You proceeded to inject Gilliam with so many steroids his penis shrank to the size of a hair follicle, and you smushed a dozen tabs of LSD under his tongue. And then you gave him the GDP of a few sub-Saharan countries. Gilliam might have made a movie not unlike this one.
I also found this particularly amusing (from IO9):
The more pathetic Sam [Witwicky] gets, the more [Megan] Fox's lips pout and her nipples point, like little Irish setters
So... who's going?

Seen it, its not bad, it is entertaining at least.
Some downers, some complaints, but still some good action and fun factor too. :D
Go and see it, do not hope for your dreams transformers part 2, but know it could have been a whole lot worse, and it will be fun and entertain enough to please most allot.
Miss spelling sweed in tha house! ;)

Well, I think UNORIGINAL is the best description.
I mean if Megan wasn't in it I don't think I could have sat trough it.

cons
Shia LaBeouf looks like a total tool.
If you don't know anything about Transformers you can't keep up with all the robots. No idea who's fighting who.
Plot is pathetically uninspired.
Lacks atmosphere, music kinda sucks.

pros
Megan Fox is excruciatingly sexy.
Good CGIs, would look great on HD

I'm not sure what is sadder, that a great story is getting abused by today's cinematography, or that every guy will ignore such abuse to watch Megan Fox...

...Of course, I'll probably go watch Ms. Fox in action anyway...

Wow, it's looking even more like a trainwreck.

Mild spoilers on the comic, full spoilers in the pseudo liveblog:

Since I'm currently with out a job movies have taken a back seat for the time being I'll wait for it to hit the movie channels.
I know that the voices in my head aren't real.
But they do have some damned good ideas. = ~.^ =

I LIKED IT... of course I've had a crush on Optimus Prime since I was 8. That might have something to do with it.

Go OPTIMUS!!

I will attempt to review Transformers in haiku:

Megan Fox is HOT.
Shia Labeouf still a dork.
Optimus kicks Butt.

Heheh, that bit of silly poetry is out of my system so my real thoughts on the movie:

Robotic Carnage!
Slo-Mo Boobs and Explosions!
Optimus Still Rocks.
I'd gladly travel back in time, except I would have to wait longer for the next chapter of Fel's work...sorry, pass.
