Thanks, Fel. Another great chapter.

I hope you don't have the crud I'm fighting. It's miserable.

And in the fury of this darkest hour
I will be your light
A lifetime for this destiny
For I am Winter born
And in this moment..I will not run
It is my place to stand
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands

And in our Dying, we're more alive-than we have ever been
I've lived for these few seconds

Thanks for the update fel!

Just curious, but have you ever heard of the Yir Yoront people? I read this fascinating article in a sociology class about how the introduction of steel axe gifts completely dismantled the Yir Yoront culture. The article is available online Steel Axes for Stone – Age Australians by Lauriston Sharp and is a poignant example of unintended consequences. :b Your Gruug encounter made me think of this

That issue of steel weapons being given to the natives does remind me of the movie "The Gods must be crazy"

Not that I think Fel is crazy.

so please don't punish me by delaying chapter 8, else I'm sure all the people here are going to roast me.

Phantom
Before Phantom can help himself to Wolfy's liver.... Wolfy reachers over and taps Phantom's head and hears a pleasent thump - just like a ripe watermellon.

The "Voices" wisper to Wolfy...."Ohh! Premium aged Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains! Drool"

With his "can-opener" Wolfy opens Phantoms skull and puts Phantom's brain in a blender, adds hot peppers, tobasco powder and blends till smooth.

Holding a large patter of crackers surrounding a bowl of the recently blended brains, Wolfy glaces around, pleasently at the rest of Fel's audience.... Brain Dip anyone?

On a more serious note, great job on the chapter Fel, I can really see the story shaping up. :)

As always, I'm looking forward to the next part, cliff hangers or not.
I'd gladly travel back in time, except I would have to wait longer for the next chapter of Fel's work...sorry, pass.
