it just kinda feel strange that no one is looking into the medical service after what has been weeks (and like 2 chapters i think?) of the virus going rampant, like jason totally forgot about it.

It's a matter of priorities. And there is a spoiler section for comments about the chapter or books. This point has even been raised there already.
