Greymist's idea of going for a spider first is good. My first choice would be an ant. Should be easy enough to find, I get the climbing ability of the spider, and exo-skeleton armour.

What is it with you people and insects? :P

That's two then. Does anyone else want to be a third?

Forget spiders and ants. Cockroaches! Geez you guys have watched too many bad monter movies made in the 50's. Cockroaches that are so adaptable that they live everywhere man does, even more so than mice. Cockroaches that outbreed mice (one litter = about 40 off spring per mother). Cockroaches that can live off glue if need be. Cockroaches that have been confirmed in tests to cooperate together in very suprising ways. So there you go the mice eat Cockroaches and within a year the frigging planet is swamped with them, Within 10 they are the dominate species, because have you ever heard of anyone being able to ereadicate every roach around.

Do realize that mankind has made it off-planet. You manage to repopulate the world with yourself, before you can gain enough size/mass to work the systems in place you're likely to get irradiated.
Spiders are not insects...
Bugs then.

Alright, so we have Fifer, Greymist, and hawk then. Cool. I'll create a new thread for you guys. If Spec moves us, we'll figure out where to. :P

--Edit
Any others are welcome to PM me, and I'll see what I can do to add you into the game somehow.

Ideas on possible mutations, just to get you guys started.

Mouse:
Larger size
Increased metabolism. (Heal naturally quicker)
Increased body structure. (Bones, muscles, reflexes.)
Other tweaks to anatomy and body systems. (Blood, cardio, etc.)
Color change. (Not going to do much for you though, except as possible camo. Natural colors are free easy changes.)

By the way, you guys managed to take out an escaped from a soft home tabby. Congrats. :P

Ooh, I'm in too.

First thing I'd eat is some sort of veggie or plant to gain photosynthesis and the ability to make my own oxygen. Then I'd go and eat some bacteria like the kind that lives in gasoline barrels and on rocket fuel. (no joke)

Then I'd annoy the living crap out of they living across the street from me, by crapping in his gas tank.

Let's say I'm another cat in that alley - what would happen if I snatched up those little tidbits left behind -- the bit of tail and leg from the injured mice?

Enslaved drone to whichever of the mice parts you ate, if the virus is in the parts?

But in reality, the virus is located in the brain, so the parts are standard mice pieces.

If I don't get a post from hawk in the next 12 or so hours, I'll assume he freezes. People, you can die.
