Going through an annual re-read/listen using a Test-To-Speech system of all the books and was listening to the section on the Generation Virus.

So what happened with the high intelligence animals on earth like Whales, Dolphins, Elephants, Simians?

Probably something similar to the wolves on the Dreamer world that Jason found for them after he freed them. They got smarter, their intelligence developed, etc etc.
