2nd Battle of Karis comment

Here is something that has been rolling around in my head for a while: During the Consortium's final defeat at the second battle of Karis the Kimdori were using thier stream weapons which the story said were designed to kill the crew. With the 14,000 Skaa picket ships (death traps) and how well they fought, maybe the Skaa should have been given the Consortium ships and then maybe join the KMS as extra system defenses?

For that matter I would think many of them would have jumped at the chance to join the KMS to get out of those pickets and into a better class of ship.

Just a thought.

The thing is, that the picket ships are a right of passage in the ska military, everyone who is in a normal ship has been on one for some time as well.
