Thanks for another great chapter Fel..! I was glad to see that I was right about Aria leading into finding out about the existence of the Preserver race of the Subjugation universe. It seemed like a golden opportunity to me for you to introduce that aspect of your story and I'm happy you seized it. The story feels like it is coming full circle in a way, where Jason again has to research the past to make sense of the present. It will be fascinating to see what new revelations are revealed as a result.

Preserver race? Might it not be a race of ancient faey who happened to have gotten far enough for space travel and who happened to find themselves in some sort of situation in which their race faced annihilation and they reacted by sending out a few seed ships not only to the local neighborhood but to other galaxies? Might be their last bid for survival... or the end came suddenly and the ones that left before that were extremists splinter groups. Humanity itself certainly has all kinds of splinter groups believing in their own way of life and actively avoiding modern mainstream life... or living in places other than western civilization. Hmmm... that race of ancient faey might even still be around in some other galaxy somewhere. If there was some sort of preserver race, I would have expected them to have seen a lot more hints in their pasts.

Every native species shares a majority of their DNA with all other life on their planet. Most of that DNA is just junk that isn't used anymore and a left over from evolution - we think. If you transplant a species to another world, you will find that other life there shares no commonality in their DNA with it. If Humanity wasn't on Earth to begin with we would have already found out. So would the Faey I expect. Or you transplant not just a sentient race but an entire ecosystem. But the lack of any fossils or plants that existed before a certain point of time, say... a few thousand years... would be another dead giveaway. Earth still has plenty of plants and a few animals that have been around since the dinosaurs virtually unchanged.

Oh, hm, perhaps this should go into a suitable discussion forum instead of here. I wonder if someone can move this there?

Wow! Get busy at work and not show up for 2 months and discover that 5 chapters have been added since I last logged in! What a wonderful surprise!

Thansk FEL. I might even get to read a chapter yet tonight.
