Question about chits

FEL,

We are told chits are made from ground up crystals.

Wouldn't that release nearly all the power the source crystal holds? If grinding them does release the power I have a very hard time seeing the folks of Noram doing that (even though when they started they thought crystals to be far more plentiful than they actually are). Especially to then use them as a food source for pet monsters.

Chits are made of milk crystals, which have virtually no mana energy in them in the first place. So they're safe to crush.

spirit crystals are tricky for shaman to create, but could chits be simpler to create, it might be a useful trick to have.

I seem to recall that the chits eventually dissipate, meaning with the lack of supply everyone will need to replace their currency with something else. Back to bartering a chicken for two bags of potatos

I wonder if crystal cutters could be trained to work with jewels, precious stones and metals instead of crystals. If the shaman are altering what their economies are based upon due to the decline of crystal, then them getting a job dealing with valuable metals that often need crafts men to shape and alter them.
If shaman can easily get precious metals, then they could get precious stones and semi precious ones.

Now they have a potential human ally in carin, will they create a shaman bank account at one of the banks? It would help creat a connection and influence amongst the human nations. It would allow them to use money to influence others.
