Can't believe nobody's mentioned Schlock Mercenary. That one's been around since 2000. http://www.schlockmercenary.com The first little bit is a bit raw as far as the drawing skill goes but he gets better FAST.

Can't see this here: http://www.calamitiesofnature.com/

Calamities of Nature is a geeky [but] funny comic and it's been named a finalist in a Washington Post poll for the best webcomic of 2010.

A bunch of passengers on a near future luxuary space flight get sucked through some wormhole and wake up on a strange planet where they come to find they are the new Gods. and the planet chooses a Leader for this pantheon Ronson, the god of alcohol and apathy. not that all the other dietys agree with this choice.

Two Kinds
So there's humans and these animal people. The humans feel that the animal people are inferior and they enslave them, keeping them under control using magic. Mana can be found naturally but when concentrated forms crystals that hold a magical charge. Human magic is controlled by a guild of magic that seems intent on taking over the governance of human lands.

If you like Fel's Walker series you may find this web comic interesting. The magic guild members are called Templars. The animal people are called Keidran and have different tribes; fox, wolf, tiger etc. There's also a second animal race called Basitin who are eastern or western tribe. Oh there be dragons too!

Blade Bunny
All Bunny wants is for people to stop calling her Hare and to get paid for killing people. She doesn't need details 'cause she's an awesome ninja bunny assassin. Yay!

I'm enjoying Not A Villan webcomic.

Summary: Hackers are evil scum who cause mass death and destruction and are hated by everyone. Life in the Real World is hard graft in the factories and farms. Living in Virtual Reality is a way to escape that life as long as you have credits. Kleya is back in the game and is trying to keep a low profile, win a battle tournament with a badly drawn avatar and not fall into temptation to hack her opponents. But who is she really?

How has no-one mentioned GPF comics?

http://www.gpf-comics.com/

It has plots as twisted and epic as sluggy.

I know both of these have been posted here in the past

Penny Arcade
http://www.penny-arcade.com/

and

PVP Online
http://pvponline.com/

But one I haven't seen yet is the collaboration between the authors of these two sites. The Trenches. It is a hilarious look at what it really means to be a Video Game tester. Not only is that the premise of the comic but there is a large backlog of real stories submitted to the website from real video game testers about what it is like. Enjoy!

I wouldn't say it's the best web comic out there, but I found The Order of the Stick to be a decent time-waster that was able to make chuckle from time to time. As the name suggests, it is all stick figures and has a fantasy setting. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html
