I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. As much as we enjoy your writing, your family comes first. Hopefully all turns out well and you get through this okay.

Fel,

As much as I have not written on here for a while, I do look forward to the new chapters. That said, I agree with those before me in this thread that family needs to come first and I hope everything works out for you and your family.

I can only agree with that, Fel. Please stay safe! Here in Germany the discussion wether the lockdown should be lifted or not is making high waves. Many people are sick of been relegated to their homes and want to mingle again. The science community here is in uproar about that and urges to maintain social distancing rules. Listen to the true experts! Don't mingle! Even if you don't get sick and show symptoms you can still spread the disease :( :(

Also: Hi CanisD, long time no see

I hope things turn out well for you and your family. Our prayers go out to you.

And I guess I can start working on putting together epub, pdf, and mobi copy of Revolution to post once this last chapter is released.

Fel,

You have your priorities straight. Caring for family/friends takes priority; any writing you do should be due to it enabling you to better cope with what's going on.

Thanks for letting us know. Keep us posted as convenient.

As possible, do things which help you deal with the stress you are currently under, whatever they may be.

It took a while, but the doctors finished all the tests, and it's not good.

Non-small cell squalid lung cancer. It's metastesized to both lungs, but hasn't spread outside of them. This is the second worse type of lung cancer to have, only small cell squalid is worse.

From here...there aren't many options for my mother. They've done a PET scan on her, and when those results come back, the doctors will have a treatment regimen. But that treatment won't cure it. At her age, and in her health, what we're looking at now is preventing the cancer from spreading outside her lungs and trying to slow down or stop the growth of the tumors.

We'll know more after she meets with an oncology specialist next week.

Oh, ... snap!

That suck rocks through a garden hose! :(

As someone that has lost several relatives to the big-C, all I can say is take all the time you can to be with, and support, your mother as you move forward through this. That, and reach out to your family and friends. As the primary caregiver, you're going to need people you trust to help support you, as you support your mother.

Prayers, good thoughts and well wishes from a fan.

Fel, I'm sorry to hear about such a grim prognosis. My thoughts are with you and your mother.

As others have said, your priorities to put your family first are absolutely right. Spend what time she has with her.

I'm really sorry to hear that things have gotten worse. Feel free to check in and chat about things that are not so serious from time to time. Hopefully we can help keep you sane. Since your having a rough time and there will be extra medical costs, I'm going to sending you something on paypal. You more than deserve it.

Sorry doesn't even begin to express my feelings on this update. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer last year, and though the treatment now has him "clear" the side effects are rough. My wife was also diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 breast cancer last fall, and her response to the treatment has been spectacular. She's been in remission for nearly 3 months now.

I guess I'm trying to say I hope your mom's response to treatment falls in line with my wife. You're being given time that you may not have had without the diagnosis, so make the most of it.

I shall remember you and her in my prayers.
