Earlier this night Wes Boyd's daughter passed along the news that her father passed away Thursday Mar 8th. They are planning to continue posting his stories (8 more books completed) as he asked them to do on his website:
https://spearfishlaketales.freeforums.n ... ad/205/wesI've been having trouble making this post, and I apologize for making you wait.
Wes's surgery did not go as we had hoped. His health hasn't been great for a long time, and he was a high risk surgical candidate. After his surgery, he wasn't waking up, but we remained pretty optimistic until about a week ago, when his doctors informed us that his organs were failing.
Wes passed away Thursday night around 10 p.m. peacefully. His funeral will be Saturday, March 17.
We're planning on continuing to make updates for him; he apparently still had eight books in the wings, and he always asked us to keep going if something were to ever happen to him. Book orders will be filled as normal, but there may be some delay as we figure things out. My husband, Daniel, will be processing stuff for him and making updates in his absence, and proceeds will be going to my mother in their entirety. He loved his writing, and I know he'd be pleased to know we're carrying on with what he's left.
I'm sorry this isn't the news anyone was expecting, least of all me. I don't have a lot more answers than that right now. I'll try to check in here periodically, but I have the newspaper to figure out right now, and that's going to keep my hands full for a while.
