I severely pulled a muscle in my leg a few days ago.

It is VERY painful, because if I sit for too long, my leg cramps up when I do get up, to the point where it feels like someone stuck a knife in my thigh.

So, needless to say, I won't be doing much writing as I get over it. I just can't sit long enough to get anything done.

Extra strength (red) Tiger Balm is the best thing I've ever found for injuries like that. Available at Walgreen's, among others. It's wax-like, similar to bees wax, and you don't need a lot. I use a fingernail and scoop out what I want, on top of the nail.

Massage it in well, then wash your hands thoroughly. Believe me, rubbing your eyes, nose or mouth without washing will guarantee you never do it again!

PS, just a question about that pain - did you do something physically, or are you by any chance taking a cholesterol reducing drug? My GP put me on one of those that gave me muscle cramps in my legs that were unbelievably painful.

Well said Spec! One never appreciates the absence of pain or morphine until they are in a surfeit of pain (or in a car accident).

Hope you are feeling better soon Fel. If it doesn't get better, it might be worth going to a physiotherapist or perhaps a massage therapist to help you heal.

You should go to your doctor to check that leg.
I had something like that my self, I thought it was pulled muscle.
It was a bacterial infection from a small scratch.
9 days in hospital on antibiotics and two weeks in bed at home.
And that was early found. Could have been a lot worse.
