I think Allia will actually be the hardest to capture on paper.

BTW- I doubt a Selani would cover her brands unless absolutely necessary...

I would agree, except in this case the description in chapter8 said "long sleeved shirt and a matching pair of pants" so I drew them so. Perhaps she was not yet used to colder climate :)

Yes, they do cover their brands. In the desert, covering the skin is essential to survival during the hottest parts of the day.

As far as the Allia sketch goes, make her clothes a bit baggier, with closed sleeves and pants tucked into the boots.

Selani head covering is called a siwa, and is vaguely turban-like with an attached scarf that goes over the face. Allia sometimes wears it, sometimes doesn't, because her silver hair reflects the heat of the sun just as effectively as a siwa keeps the head cool. During the stormy season, she wears the siwa, but during the calm season she does not.

The swords are just right. Those are pattern stock shortswords, and those are what she uses.

Facewise, make her face a bit more heart-shaped, with slightly larger, almond-shaped eyes.

Proportionally, I think you captured a Selani. They are tall and sleek.

ArticFox,

I am impressed. You draw very well sir, I bow to great talent. Just curious, I am a bfa photography student, so as an fellow artist, How are you drawing? digitally with software or soft charcoal/soft pencils on paper?
Again, beautiful work. Jegojah looks awesome, love the detail in the skull.

I am mightily impressed especially because I cannot draw much except for more technical drawings with a ruler.

Photography is the best I can use to capture a scene.

Thank you for the compliments. :) I draw mostly digitally these days. I use wacom graphire A6 graphics tablet and Artrage 2.5 Full-version (limited free version can be found at http://www.artrage.com/. Program is made specifically for drawing and tries to emulate normal artists' tools and I'm quite satisfied with it though I would like to get my hands on Corel Painter but professional programs like that are quite beyond my budget at the moment. When not in front of computer I mostly use graphite pencils of medium spectrum (6B - 4H).

And not to go totally off-topic, here is one of my tries for Dolanna. with color :)

Tarrin: take 2
-muscle upgrade
-face surgery ( more square jaw, more present cheekbones)
-staff (in left hand cus i had already drawn the right hand and didnt want to change it. and I'd say Tarrin is pretty ambidexterous anyways  )
-adjusted the tail length. should be more or less 1.5 x leg
- adjusted tattoo and the shaeram positions a bit

Perfection, absolute perfection

Edit:: of course, I look at his face, and I can only see Viggo from Ghostbusters 2. :( Also, the Weavespinner legs on his Shaeram need to extend to the circles edge I believe.

Oh, and for the Dolanna one, I don't like it....

a) Her face is too chimp-like
b) She appears to be slouching (bring the shoulders and head back)

Vigo and a chimp in absolute perfection... *wince*

Gotta agree about Dolanna though.. it is a quick sketch. should have used more time with it. and perhaps I with Tarrins face too..
However, about Shaeram... the weavespinner legs do not extend to the outer ring. As stated in this old discussion.

Which post are you talking about?

If it's the first one, it's Allia.

If it's the second one, it's Jenna.

very well done, you definitely shade better than I do. and the anatomy of Tarrin is perfect. Nice job with the tail.
