Dahani. Marines built like that couldn't run very fast. :D

As silly as it might sound - nude ascii art is still covered under the porn thing (and it's NSFW), so removed.

Yay!! Nice of Fel to give us chapter 20 a nice big one too.

But he still hasn't solved the problem of the kidnapped humans. Even though he made a point of the Urumi not wanting to be seen as bad guy's any more in respect of House Karrine.

Room there for Jason to manouver maybe rescue them diplomatically maybe? :)

Nice touch with kiaari being made gamemaster or should that be gamemistress she should be able to keep a decent eye on things for Jason while he's involved in setting up karris.

Not too sure about Cybi's insistance on breeding though. She was supposed to discontinue the generations program but now she's talking about planned breeding. And what's more Jyslin is agreeing with her.

Nice to see that Yana got some I was feeling a bit sad about her what with her being so strong. I was thinking that maybe one of the generations would have been her permanent partner. :D

Been thinking about the disappearance of Jason & co when people were watching for him. I think that he has used the time and the opportunity of having access to unlimited materials to update his skimmer shield. It was already invisible to sensors I think he went one step further and applied the same thing to a transport but this time using Karrine tech to make it really invisible.

That isn't so much about the Generations program, as it is ensuring that the house has continuity.

The generations program was, IIRC, all about improving the Karinne race and improving their ability to directly interface with computers. They were genetically engineered at each level with planned breedings.

What Cybi (and Jyslin and the others) are doing is ensuring that, even if Jason is killed or dies, that there will be other nobles of Karinne blood who will be available to run the house.

Yeah, but Cybi is thinking of second generation crossbreeds which means she's still thinking in terms of planned breeding to improve the Karrine bloodline.

She may not still be thinking active enhancement of the Karrine DNA base but she's certainly thinking in terms of natural improvement.

Chapter 18
[I do not have that information. It is possible,] Cybi answered honestly. [It is not the first out-of-house breeding ordered. Genetically superior Faey from outside the house were often used to enrich the line. My scans indicate that the young Faey female Jason’s memory designates as Private Yana would be a prime candidate for such a breeding partner. My scans indicate she is gifted in talent, on par with a Karinne female.]
Maybe it is just natural for faey to tend to breed with the strongest telepaths. But I still think that Cybi harbours plans for the generations.

I think that those plans are part of the natural desires of female Faey. Jyslin herself in Chapter 20 mentioned the same thing.

From Chapter 20
Spoiler: show
From Cybi
“I see. Jason, I cannot stress enough how precarious the situation is with the Generations. The program will be halted, but the fruits of that labor are very small in number. You are an endangered species, my friend. Ensuring the continuation of the lines should be your top priority.”
Spoiler: show
“No, beyond that. There are only two hundred fifty-four of you if you count your unborn child, my friend. That is not enough. Each Generation should produce at least four children, each by a different partner, to broaden the gene pool and protect the lines. And you and Erinn, being males, should try to produce those children as quickly as possible, since you do not have to carry the child.”
Spoiler: show
“I know, my friend, but it is something that I had to tell you. It is a matter of the survival of the Karinnes.”
Spoiler: show
Myleena talking with Jason

I knew we’d have to do this, Jayce. There aren’t many of us, and just one outbreak of some new disease could wipe us out forever. We may have been created out of cold science, but we are here, and we have a duty to protect our line. Cybi said it best, babes, we’re an endangered species. We have to increase our numbers, and do it fast. I’ve been at it hot and heavy with a friend of mine from Dracora. He’s cute, and he’s also a pretty strong telepath for a man, which I consider a necessary quality given that my kids will be nobles, and have to be strong. So, I’ve been trying to get pregnant. Once I do and have my baby, I’ll go find another man that has attractive qualties and strong talent, and have him get me pregnant. I already realized that to enrich our gene pool as much as we can and prevent inbreeding, my children couldn’t have the same father. I’m aiming for six kids. Most Faey women can produce six kids in her lifetime, so I’m shooting for the average. I’d be overjoyed with nine, but I’ll take three.
I’m, shocked, you’re okay with this idea.
This isn’t about us, Jason, she sent seriously to him. This is about way more than just us. This is about protecting the Karinne family line, on both sides. The human telepaths should be doing the same thing we’re doing on their side, breeding to increase their numbers, because they are the last identifiable members of the other side of the house. Every human telepath should be required to have at least three children by different partners.

Hey, don't look at me, I didn't put in the spoiler tags. I figured since it is in the spoilers section, I wouldn't need to.

Sorry 'bout that.

Give it a few weeks before any new chapter spoilers can be more or less "safely" be considered non-spoilers.

Fel just posted ch 20, if you now reply with ch 20 spoilers, most people will read this thread, thinking that they're safe from the latest post until they get around to reading it.

Back to topic:

Jyslin was not Noble surely she's too fresh to the Siann to be thinking dynastically. :?:

I know Faey females with their extended fertility (see Fel's post on Faey breeding & genetics) think in terms of large famillies. But I still think that Cybi is pushing it.

Unless of course she has spotted something and there is something in Jason's unique Karrine/Human DNA mixture that she thinks is worth preserving and going against the edict. Something above and beyond merely preserving the line of the new Grand Duke of Karris.

Something she feels is worth spreading out amongst the Faey/Karrine gene pool. :D

Hmm, I wonder what she could have spotted.
