I was just re-reading the series for the nth time and I came up with a thought.

When Mist decided to grow to her proper height, Tarrin earnestly wished for it to take a shorter time because h was worried about her actions when she was irritable. Her quick 1 day growth was explained away by Dolanna as probably having something to do with being on another world. However now that we know the full truth of what being a Mishara is and that his unconscious desire for Janette to be better protected caused her to actually develop the spark of sorcery, COuld it be that his desire for her growth to be over as quickly as possible caused his Mishara powers to make a change in reality where her case was concerned?

Technically, only a mortal can be a Mi'Shara. Tarrin at the time was the Mortal God, with the firestaff god's soul.

We'd have to get a ruling from Fel on that one. :)

Quoting Chapter 8 of Demon's Bane I would argue that he still had access to some of his Mishara abilities:
Tarrin tapped into his reserves of Sorcery, weaving that power into his barrier, then called directly on the magic of the Wizards, then directly sought power from the earth itself in the manner of the Druid, feeling the All of this world suddenly awaken itself to his presence, then move to comply. The Mi’Shara called on all the magic he could muster to bolster his defense, hurling all the magic of the mortal world into the shield woven by his divine power to reinforce it, to protect him from the wrath of the One.
How could the Mi'shara call on all the magic when he didn't have access to his Mi'shara abilities?

Tarrin was still a Wizard, a Sorcerer, and a druid. He was still accessing mundane powers when he did that, combined with his own divine power. He used the mundane magics to strengthen his divine abilities.

The Mi'Shara Tarrin doesn't need godly powers. Instead, he rewrites the rules to where mortal magic is the equivilent of that power, if only for a time.

In the first case, mortal magics were used as a powersource for a divine shield, the divine energies making the form of the shield and the mortal magics filling in the cracks.

In the second case, it's pure mortal power. Reaching beyond the restrictions of 'sorcery,' 'druidic' or 'wizardry' magic, to the source of magic as a whole. No one else can do that, not even Spyder as far as I can tell. Spyder's Mi'Shara ability is unlimited amounts of power. That was what was required to seal away Val. Enough power to overcome pure entropy and put limits on it.

Tarrin was required to override Entropy's 'avatar' which is why he had the indomitable will.
