Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
I'm fairly sure it was pointed out in Subjugation that yes, the reason none of the Faey descendants had talent until the Faey turned up was because there was nobody there to jolt them awake as opposed to the Imperium where everybody is telepathically communicating and there's a lot of drive to expre...

Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
Projective Empathy is both very useful...and almost as horrifying as some of the stuff the Faey Mind Benders can get up to. Honestly, I would like some information on how these 'extra-talents' pop up. At the moment they seem like natural gifts (aka one is born an Empath, one is born a precog, one is...

Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
For non Perri Shaman? Its discinctly possible. Jason was told that if he studied for it, he could become a Shaman. I think its a combination of a gift and study. Aka you need to be born with some psychic power but then study in how to use it. We don't really know whats involved in Shaman training, o...

Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
IIRC from the story where we learned about the the Syndicate it was mentioned that the battles started turning against the Consortium fairly recently, like in the last decade or something. That means that the Consortium had any descendants from the Exiles. That said, descendants from the Exiles is a...

Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
SYED: Why they want the Interdictor on? Even if htey are surrounded by bad guys, if its turned off, it might be possible for somebody to run a oracle simulation/prediction and come to the conclusion that it might be a good idea to send all their ships out through their window. Even if they couldn't ...

Re: Conviction Chapter 9 [Spoilers]
Keep in mind that even if you know the enemy is going to attack at Point A, unless you have a force large enough to do anything about it, you are still kind of screwed. The Confederacy is already staring down the barrels of thousands of Super Ships and they have the resources of most of the Milky Wa...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 8 (spoilers)
There was one instance where the Kimdori were picking up some agents that had infiltrated the Consortium base. Jason asked if they got out safely and the Denmother said that the ship that picked them up never left hyperspace. Even Jason was impressed with the kind of dedication and work taht needs t...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 8 (spoilers)
It's in Inception chatper 10 when it's introduced I believe. “Actually, they have trans-light drives,” Miaari noted as she looked at the results. “They utilize light hyper-modulation to shroud the ship in a field of hyper-light, separating it from three-dimensional physics. That allows the ship to e...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 8 (spoilers)
And you are underestimating the number of stars there. There are approximately 100,000,000 in the galaxy. now granted, as you say, a lot of them can be ruled out by being close to the core but that's still a staggeringly large area...and really drives home the how large the Consortium and the Syndic...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 8 (spoilers)
That's a good point. I think it was the chapter before this where we got the Karines touring that super ship over in Andromeda and it was mentioned that the Syndicate was filling like 70% of the interior with just the hyperspace engines, and then it was mentioned that the Karines could reduce that m...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 8 (spoilers)
Catapults work almost like Mass Relays from Mass Effect and are basically non mobile, they operate on a Point A to Point B approach. Which is great for speeding up trade in your empire, and not so great for catching fast courier boats (which are probably unmanned so there's no concern about extended...

Re: chapter 7 (spoiler) discussion responses to actions
Yeah, without a paired Stargate, its very dangerous to send somebody through a hole to the another galaxy. Jason had all his arguments with the Denmother about that. Getting a Star Gate to another galaxy is rather troubling (also remember the Stargates are Imperium Tech so any plan like that needs t...
