Re: Capturing a super ship (potential spoilers)
Regarding the oracle and unexpected events and whether it has to be asked a question in order to make a prediction: we've already seen one event that makes me discount the idea that questions need to be posed. The Benga dropped out of hyperspace in order to avoid the interdiction trap. Given that th...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 7
Oh, I was also thinking that the ship-killers would be a good use for fully remote operation, perhaps even to the point of mounting cheap maneuvering pods of some kind on the weapon. That way you don't have the time wasted in removing the unit from a shuttle. Anything that cuts down the time from to...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 7
Also, I would say that being able to tell what system is a ship's target from half a galaxy away is a bit much. Even if you have a ship's _exact_ course I suspect that there are enough stars that you would have no idea where they were going to stop, and also with just a little maneuvering the entire...

Re: Conviction, Chapter 7
So I was wondering about the new IP tech, it protects against kinetic as well as other normal-physics damage. Does it re-enforce things enough that an outfitted ship could be used as a survivable missile? Basically bring back ancient naval ramming attacks.

Something I kinda wonder about with Tarrin and his alter-ego god self, now that Niami has the relationship she wants is she now okay with the mortal Tarrin calling her Mother?

Re: Conviction chapter 3, spoilers
Does this means that we will have Chapter 4 soon ? Don't pressure him. A chapter takes time to write and rewrite. As always, it will be done when it is done. Patience, young Padawan. ;-) Total Population in the House of Karinne and then separated for each colony Total No of Systems owned Total No C...

Re: Conviction chapter 3, spoilers
Well, that's certainly going to be even more of an open-mouth staring moment when it's announced. 5 minutes isn't even an inconvenience. It truly puts the invaders within reach,

Re: Conviction chapter 3, spoilers
A question I've had, how is it that the new engine can go across the Milky Way in ~20s but takes 50+ days to reach Andromeda? According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way the Milky Way is 180,000 light years across at its widest, while Andromeda (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andromeda_Galax...

Re: Task chapter 3
I was somewhat surprised that the Agathinon didn't perhaps put in a subtle hand during the final fight. Or the cross-bow assassination attempt. Either of those could have easily gone against Polin and by the time he's dead (or perhaps even seriously wounded) it is too late.

Re: Task Chapter 2
Given the statement about how even a younger god like Kikkalli works for Him far more than Miranda (even while taking part in a direct assignment) I would say it is pretty much a given that the gods know where their existence ultimately derives from. I do think Cassiter is more of an open question. ...

Task Chapter 2
FEL, How is Tarrin doing the shape-shifting now (i.e. into dragons). When his fire wings were returned late in Demon's Bane we were told they no longer held the ability to take on other forms. Yet now he seems to be able to do the actual shift in even less time than before. But we've also been told ...

Question about chits
FEL, We are told chits are made from ground up crystals. Wouldn't that release nearly all the power the source crystal holds? If grinding them does release the power I have a very hard time seeing the folks of Noram doing that (even though when they started they thought crystals to be far more plent...

Nah, just use something other than matter for the nanite memory and have it occupy something other than space.

Re: Links to Good Reading (Part 2)
I found Mage Life (at http://magelifeblog.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/mage-life-chapter-1/) quite enjoyable, also Kaiserin (http://kaiserinnovel.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/chapter-1/), although that one has an extremely unpleasant middle section. I've also been enjoying Dragon Wars (http://firebird-ficti...

Re: Walker of the Path, chapter 5 [spoilers]
Also, bummer about the device being affected so by all the arcans seeing its first use. Although I do see how that is necessary to keeping the arch from being all-powerful, if it were just a matter of a normal shaman over-exertion it would be tempting to use it too often. I do, however, have to wond...
