Re: Assimilation - Chapter 9 (Spoilers)
It could be that in the Imperium, it is only considered slavery if you buy and sell citizens. True, but this still means that all the 'western' humans in the story will almost certainly think the farm system was slavery. :) Which might be a source of amusing character conflict with the Faey. Seeing...

Re: Assimilation - Chapter 9 (Spoilers)
He did not repeat this to the population at large during his announcement that he was taking charge of the Earth. But he did say quite publically that the workers on the farm would now be paid - implying that Trillane hadn't been paying them up until now. If being forced to work (against your will,...

Re: Assimilation - Chapter 9 (Spoilers)
mmm what the fey officer did is probably very illegal on earth. One of the promises made by Jason was that the fey wouldn't invade the mind of anyone. I know she was trying to help him, but without his consent it's still a violation. beside that note the only other thing not positive is that the ch...

Re: Is this even possible?
Sure it depends on Omega weapons, and it also depends on what delivery methods are available. It depends on how many weapons are needed to destroy a planet. If it takes a dozen hits to destroy a planet and only half of the launched weapons can be expected to strike, then it takes 24 weapons to guar...

Re: Is this even possible?
Whether it is Mutually Assured Destruction or not depends a lot on the Omega Weapons used to destroy Karis. If only the Merranes have them, then it is one thing. If other houses have them, or the technology to make them, then all it would do is to have one stashed somewhere - Fel has said that space...

Re: TELEPATHIC AUSSIES
Based on the evidence in "Subjugation", that the Faey refugees settled on Earth around Scotland and Northern England, I would say that the regions with likely Telepathic Terrans would be Nova Scotia and New Zealand, as well as the UK. Of course, migrants from the UK spread all over the wor...

Re: cooks and other wierd news
If you know anyone with a serious chronic condition, who has to constantly pop pills, you'll soon find out that at least half the pills are designed to neutralize the side effects of the other pills. I know one poor young lady who suffers a severe form of epilepsy. At one stage she had to take...

Re: cooks and other wierd news
Use of poisons goes back centuries. For friends who insist that "natural" remedies are best, and can do no harm, I always suggest a cup of organic hemlock.
