Re: Unification - Chapter 7 - Spoilers
Things have been going too much to plan, other than the disappointment at the summit. Next week: "Attack Of The Giant Spiders!"
The faked disagreement between the Houses could escalate beyond control too..

I think they just love the 30hr cooking channels. Hmm exotic food prepared by hunky chefs (ahem!).

Re: The Galatic Boogeyman?
You've nicely encompassed the potentially sinister nature of the Kimdori there boballab. They were also involved with the Karinne attempt to make themselves into the ultimate psionic power. Their cousins. I do find myself thinking whenever the Consortium energy beings are mentioned that perhaps they...

Re: Unification - Chapter 6 - Spoilers
Dahnai will have to place stargates in all Faey controlled territories, if there aren't any there already, for the Imperial forces to protect systems from attack. Some houses may be able to afford to put more stargates in place but I understand that they are expensive. The problem may not be as bad ...

But those puppies are so cute!
I seem to remember something about the intelligence agencies banning Furbys (sp?) a few years back in case they recorded and played back national secrets... Was that Fel's work too?

Re: Unification - Chapter 6 - Spoilers
Yes, it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the Siann do react to the idea of Earth being set up as the center of a sector trading hub. I guess that Draconis already performs this function within the Faey Imperium and to a lesser extent also the House capitol worlds. The reliance on expensive M...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
My point is that the destruction and enslavement was done by House Trillane. They have been removed from Earth and the Faey there now are working in a spirit of cooperation with humans. The balance is in not characterizing all Faey with the crimes committed by the Trillanes. The rest of the Faey hav...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
Inflammatory reporting which led to civil unrest could prove to the Imperium that Trillane were right to treat humans with such draconian measures. That is... utterly indefensible. With that attitude you'd never report anything, because doing so would 'make it worse'. You're right which is why the ...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
ANTIcarrot I didn’t disagree with some of your points. The Imperium has border tensions and a food shortage and so secure a planet ideal for food production. Not unlike the “Coalition of the Willing” securing oil suppies in Iraq in 2003. As did the British Empire in 1920 and 1956. The Trillanes con...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
But as the planet grows, so does the government. Jason is already getting overwhelmed with the amount of work he has to do, and soon, he'll realize that he needs help at the executive level. By then, he'll probably install a "prime minister" and let him or her assume some of his duties, h...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
The Faey are not Nazis. It has become tiresome that anything “evil” is bandied about with Hitler or Nazis or Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. :? They are more analogous to colonial Europe, where countries and other concerns would claim lands often with no understanding of what or who they contained in order to...

Re: Unification - Chapter 5 - Spoilers
I think boballab 's explanation encompasses the situation very well. Further the Grand Duchesses/Duke of the noble houses are closer to CEOs of multi-system conglomerates than our historical feudal lords. They just happen to be hereditary positions and have to be removed by more direct measures than...
