Re: Earth Bond Chapter 15 Discussion (spoilers!)

Yet, China has been selling us cheap plastic beads and baubles for years, and we're still buying the stuff. In literal fact. Actual magical items, cheap or not, would sell quite well, so I don't think it's too silly. Never underestimate the power of novelty and cheapness to drive a sale.

Re: Earth Bond Chapter 15 Discussion (spoilers!)

That reminds me of a part in one of the Sennadar books, where Tarrin and co were on their way to the island which held the staff. They came across a ship, and in one the spell books there was a wizard spell to pleasure ones self :P Well, you know, it must get awful lonely out at sea... They say nec...

Re: Earth Bond Chapter 15 Discussion (spoilers!)

I probably shouldn't even mention this at all... but given how just about anything and everything is eventually used in some fashion or another for sex and/or porn, I wonder how long it would be before people found a way to use magic to that end. I can just see some levitation spells getting used fo...

Re: The Avengers (no spoilers)

Yes, I'm very much looking forward to it myself...! :D I've been waiting ever since it was first hinted at in the first Iron Man movie. It really is too bad that DC can't get their act together to produce a live action Justice League film. Heck, I'd settle for a live action fight scene between Super...

Re: Earth Bond Chapter 14 Discussion (spoilers!)

Interestingly, the Animal Planet show, "Dragons: A Fantasy made Real", described dragons as eating platinum, to use as a catalyst for their fire breath. It was a show that attempted to explain how dragons might have been real and still be able to do the things attributed to them, through i...

The rapid fire chapters are awesome, but your stories are worth the wait. :)

Re: Earth Bond Chap 13 Discussion...

Heh, I've met people in real life who believe dragons are real. Although, I gotta admit that show they did on dragon biology if they really did exist was quite believable. The world is a strange place, and I guess I wouldn't be too shocked if it turned out there really was some sort of dragon creatu...

Re: Earth Bond Chap 12 Discussion...

Seastallion, You are correct that naturally occuring fission and fusion reactors exist. All stars are examples of the latter, and the Earth's core is an example of the former. There are a few closer to the surface, but they're more along the lines of 'half a degree warmer than normal' rather than a...

Re: Earth Bond Chap 12 Discussion...

Well, I'm not sure that I really gave anything I'd call a 'proof'. I related a story (about Siemens) which as far as I know is true, and one of probably many theories as to 'why' there might be an unusually strong EM field around the Pyramid. If we're referring to Tesla's work at Wardenclyffe, I wou...

Re: Earth Bond Chap 12 Discussion...

I admit I may be wrong about the LED experiment (as I haven't actually done it myself), it is something I'd heard of as an experiment. A neighbor and I did however test water flowing from the tap, using a Volt meter, and picked up an intermittent charge of about .03 volts. Granted, that is NOT a lot...

Re: Earth Bond Chap 12 Discussion...

I agree that some things in science are fairly rock solid, but only up to a point. The old saying that "truth is often stranger than fiction" is VERY true. There are still things we can't explain from observation when it comes to the leading edge of physics and quantum mechanics. To sugges...
