Re: Familiar, Chapter 1.

It's an interesting premise. The characters look like they'd be fun to follow. It would be interesting to see where you want to take the story.

He posted an update on February 5th saying he was halfway through the chapter.

You'll need to check the terms and conditions of the AI image generator to see who owns the image. In the case of DALL-E 2 it looks like OpenAI claims all images generated though unlimited non-commercial use is allowed. The AI can't hold the copyright, but it might be automatically held by the creat...

Tarrin isn't referenced by name in Unification. Having just reread Unification and Tribulation, my guess is that Kraal is secretly Tarrin. He's described as very tall with absolutely black fur except for the white bar marking a Handgroom. What we see of his personality later is also compatible with ...

It sounds like you're talking about the Lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary or the Moho (Mohorovičić discontinuity). The depth of the Moho varies from 10 km to 70 km and that is mapped using seismic tomography. Glancing at the map on wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohorovi%C4%8Di%C4%87_disc...

Re: Fel vs The Theives

Damn, Fel, that sucks. I know you won't be able to get into your PayPal account until you get a new computer. Having said that, I bet we could overcome that difficulty if we put our minds to it. If there's someone you and the community trust to run it we could run a gofundme campaign and ship you a ...

Re: the economics of charity

All the major languages have a free compiler and free learning resources. Based on my experience teaching my brother to be a programmer there are a couple of questions that you should think about. 1) What do you want to do? or Why do you want to be a programmer? 2) Do you have any small projects and...

Well, it isn't possible to secede just by voting for it.

On the one hand, the story strikes me as hilariously stupid. On the other hand, that could get really ugly if it escalates.

Re: Ok call me stupid.. (will try and keep politics out) Pon

It doesn't actually meet the definition of a ponzi scheme. It is a defined benefit pension plan. You pay into SS as you work and when you retire (and are of age) you can claim defined benefits. Unlike a 401k you're supposed to get your benefits regardless of what the markets have been doing. It is t...

If it did for them...how are they going to answer? THINK about these things! ;) I did. I figure if Spec doesn't answer, we're all doomed. Hmm... are you sure? I think you missed the logically necessary complexities of the Rapture. The real end days stuff can't start until the whole world has...

1: Remember that although they have little mass compared to other constructions their size, Stargates are HUGE. Minor nitpick: Comercial Stargates are huge. Miles across. They're designed for massive quantities of shipping; and with a large margin of error for rapid transit and somewhat poor piloti...

Trying to figure out a LOUSY programmer's code written from a LOUSY spec I'm flowcharting #3 tonight. i'm in hell. Mo...
