Re: Sennadar migration / Wiki re-added

I was already on book 7 in the series when the wiki was restored. :( Biggest thing right now I'm pondering over is the spoiler matter in regards to creating character entries, or updating entries. A very minor example would be Elari Trillane, do we create the entry under that name, redirect it to K...

Re: Amazon kindle?

I am afraid I disagree, because I found that working with Kindle was a thorough PITA, so my writing only appeared there for a few weeks, but then I regard my writing as a hobby or avocation, not a JOB!!!

Re: Update?

Stairs???? I used to try to keep limber by walking the halls and the stairways of the five story building where I live in the evening (in this neighbourhood only fools and the ridiculously brave walk the local sidewalks after sunset) - I had to give up though because while going up the stairs was pa...

Re: Update?

I severely strained the anterior infererior somethingorother ligament in my hip 2 weeks ago, which makes it extremely painful to sit, walk, stand, and anything and everything else. It's hard to write when it hurts to sit at the computer. The worst part is that it may take another 6 weeks for it to ...

Re: Lost & Found

I agree that it sounds very similar to John Norman's novels about Gor, but I don't recall anything about the collars doing anything else than serve as a reminder to the women that men are totally in control. I know those books are in my collection, because my ex-wife used to buy them for me. Hmm, I'...

Re: Lost & Found

For those who might have been interested, the folks who comment on the "Beyond the Far Horizon" website were able to assist me to find the story - it was titled "When in the Course" by H Beam Piper and in the collection titled "Federation." For those who read Piper's stories, it was submitted to Joh...

Re: Lost & Found

Looking for a story whose plot is much like H Beam Piper's "Lord Kalvan of Otherwhen" in many ways - but the plot revolves around a group of space explorers who arrive at a planet just in time to break up an attack on a semi-fortified establishment by a group of thugs. The space men (and women) find...

Re: Interdictor maths

Gotcha, Thank You! Because as I saw it by making outer dimensions of the cubes that large, they left spaces between the layers (even in a two dimensional layout), which I didn't think would be 'safe' as a 'barrier.' But, as I said I'm not a math nut - I just have this odd sense that can "almost see/...

Re: Interdictor maths

Just one question: if you use the cubic method, what do you do about the gaps, because I can't "see" how they would work out to give a full overlap?

PS: I'm getting fairly old and not a major math nut, just a long retired engineer, so a simple answer may have eluded me.

Re: Sad day

My sympathies to those who were affected! As a country, we in Canada went through something similar a few years ago in Quebec and I know how it can hit below the belt, because you just don't expect that sort of thing. At least that's how I felt then, but now that it is become more common to see thos...

Besides, I sooooo miss Keritanima, and I'd love to bring her out of retirement and unleash her on the universe one more time. She was probably my favorite character to write from the Firestaff series.

Re: Is that a Fire Dragon - perhaps?

I'll be returning to Earth Bond after I finish Retribution. Yay and Yee Haw!!!! I really like that story! As for my own efforts - they are unfortunately at a near stalemate -- I write like mad for a few hours, then reread what was written and find it is not up to snuff. The ideas I wish to convey a...

Re: Is that a Fire Dragon - perhaps?

Yep, I did recall that, but felt the personality acted more like that of a fire dragon that that of a sky dragon, so I thought there was a chance that either I or the artist had gone colour blind.
