Emergence , by David Palmer. David Palmer also wrote a sequel, Tracking , but it's a bit hard to find. Analog July/August, September, and October 2008 issues for the sequel, which was news to me; my family ceased subscribing to the SF magazines in the late 1990s, as Dad wasn't keeping up with them....

Aha, I had the same problem. Rapina changed the link, but the the Chronicles' Table of Contents was cached in my browser. Once I refreshed the page, I could see and click to "A Tail of Trolls".arargh wrote:The table of contents entry for the chapter does not have the correct URL.

FYI, Raptina has released a new chapter in her epic work The Chronicles of Rapina http://www.asstr.org/~rapina/stories.html . It's long and she usually only post one long chapter a year, but it's well worth the read. You know I love the Rapina saga. However the author is frustrating his/her readers...
