Re: Railgun - Sonic Boom

I don't know enough about physics of sound to "solve" this issue ("Solve" because it is possible that bullet from Jason railgun/gauss rifle should create sonic boom), but perhaps it is because of the size and agnle of sonic cone created by such fast a bullet. But I do wonder abo...

Re: old ideas and dodging studying for a test.

The one I prefer is #5. It is an interesting scenario. Number a and 3 are old ideas. #1 could be interesting, if done properly. From your previous works, I think you can easily do it. I would not bother reading #3, as there is a large number of stories with a plot very similar to that one. I like nu...

Re: Subjugation Where does it go from here?

I do not feel addicted. Well, a bit, but that's normal for me. I've been addicted to every series I have started reading, be they moderately good. I think I liked more subjugation than the chronicles of Tarrin Kael, however. I assume it was written later, as the writing style is better. What partial...

Re: Tarrin chosing sword, not staff

I think that like a staff, a sword can be used in such a way that it doesn't kill the adversary. Just cut the muscles here and there to incapacitate, for exemple. Also, if one uses a shield with the sword, one can use it as a blunt weapon, and stun the enemy.

Re: Railgun - Sonic Boom

I concur with Phantom, the bullet should be too small for a sonic boom. Remembering the heat caused by the reentry, the bullet should also disintegrate upon acceleration. EDIT: Okay, I admit being wrong. And I knew part of the sound of firearms came from a sonic boom. I remember a documentary on TV ...

Re: Railgun vs. Faey Armor

I was thinking HEAD SHOT! No, Bad. The world does not need another FPS Doug imitator. :| I was not aware this man existed, or that he had done something related to fps jokes. Is he the one who's saying BOOM HEAD SHOT ? I heard that once on CS. Seriously, I really thought about the quake 3 railgun. ...

Re: Railgun vs. Faey Armor

I was wondering... By its description, the Railgun seems more like a gauss rifle (coil gun) First, it has no rails, so it is not a rail gun. Second, like I said, it is more like a gauss rifle, which uses simple electromagnetic coils activated successively to propel the projectile. A railgun uses ano...
