Re: Demon's Bane, Chapter 6 (Spoilers)

It's stated pretty clearly that the arrows will kill anything they hit. Period. No matter what. I guess the Solar was a bit bent out of shape - That blast of MAD was detected everywhere. About this time "The One" has got the NEWS and knows that one mad cat is scrapping for him and has the...

Re: Sub Chap 13... Spoilers.

This is just a thought based on "the mines" that Jason has thought up. Jasons "mines" that hack the on board computer could ... hack the computer they could reprogram the destination of the load or redesignate the cargo as something else other than what is actually inside. I hav...

Re: US Military Lifestyle Discussion

Prior to the MREs I got a few C-rats. C-Rats were good and you got this real cute can opener. :) The newer MRE's were much better with the little bottle of tabisco sauce. During the first war people would wash them out and fill it with sand. Pink baby powder like sand in Saudi. Browner stuff in Kuw...

Re: US Military Lifestyle Discussion

I didn't tell you this but you can save the instant coffee packs from the MREs. MRE's, that brings back memories of a supply truck rolling by and catching a brown packet tossed from the back of the truck as it rolls by. Did we get something good like "Mac & Cheese" or "Meatloaf W...

"Our archers are so numerous," said the envoy, "that the flight of their arrows darkens the Sun." "So much the better," replied Leonidas, "for we shall fight them in the shade." —Simonides

Re: Subjugation chapter 12 is complete.

This is a motivational chapter.
Somebody is going to get motivated right up side the head.

I can picture Jason posting a bounty for the head of the PTB. Just the head the rest can be used for fertilizer.

Re: Railgun - Sonic Boom

I concur with Phantom, the bullet should be too small for a sonic boom. Remembering the heat caused by the reentry, the bullet should also disintegrate upon acceleration. You can get a sonic boom with a .30 cal bullet. A silenced wepon uses light power charges so it does not make a sonic boom. If y...

And it is composite material. I wonder what would happen if wood was heated in neutral (oxygen free) atmosphere.... You get charcoal. n. A black, porous, carbonaceous material, 85 to 98 percent carbon, produced by the destructive distillation of wood and used as a fuel, filter, and absorbent.
