Use of poisons goes back centuries. For friends who insist that "natural" remedies are best, and can do no harm, I always suggest a cup of organic hemlock.

If you know anyone with a serious chronic condition, who has to constantly pop pills, you'll soon find out that at least half the pills are designed to neutralize the side effects of the other pills.
I know one poor young lady who suffers a severe form of epilepsy. At one stage she had to take seven different types of pills, each with different frequencies. Only one of the pills was directly for the epilepsy, all the others were to cancel some of the side effects, or the side effects of the pills that countered the side effects. She is now down to only three types of pills.
Personally I have been known to add a xanthine alkaloid that is a psychoactive stimulant drug, with a central nervous system depressant. But then, I'm partial to Irish coffee.
