Well, it could be me, I'll turn 52 on December 21st. I suspect I'm older than your son.Doc Spratley wrote:I blame this all on my son...he was born on Dec 21 and has been a pain ever since......
Re: The Mayan Prediction
The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles had problems with registering older cars after Y2K. From what I remember they got the programs to work but people with older(want to say pre 1970ish) cars renewing registrations would be listed as unregistered from 1900 until the year the car was made. I have tried to find any articles about it but they dont seem to exist any mores.

Re: The Mayan Prediction
I seem to recall that the whole Y2K issue came to light when credit cards were issued in the late 90's. The credit card systems being used thought the cards were expired since the expiration year of 00 was less than the current year of 97 or whatever it was. And yes, those were good years for those of us who knew COBOL. A lot of money was spent to get rid of the 2 digit year and to test the systems.

Re: The Mayan Prediction
Actually archeologists have found many Mayan calendars... Most of which go out for BILLIONS of years past 2012. The calendar in question is known to be BROKEN. As in the end of it is broken off. Or the rest of the wall it is on is now gone.
While the end of the world will come, maybe even in a few years per some bible believers, I doubt it will end on the day/year the Mayans said it would. Maybe the politicians will over react and try and repeal the 2nd Amendment and we'll have a civil war involving nukes... oh... end of the world I guess.

Re: The Mayan Prediction
Well it isn't time yet.
It should either be at 11:12 UTC when the exact time of winter solstice is this year.
Or, as this day obviously is included in the Mayan calender, at the end of today in Mayan timezone, which should be tomorrow around 6:00 UTC (or is it 5:00 UTC ? not sure about the timezone in Mexico).
Let's see if we are still here tomorrow

Re: The Mayan Prediction
Well, my sister-in-law had her first daughter yesterday. She said Seriana was her Apocalypse Baby. This is my second niece, both of which were born this year, interestingly. So, I guess now we'll have to see if she turns out to be a mutant. Although, she looks pretty cute and normal so far.Fel wrote:Welcome to the next age.
