Just thought someone would be interested to know that Earth Bond chapter 9 (or whatever story chapter Fel chooses to release next) will be Fel's 350th chapter.**
As of now, Fel has published THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY NINE chapters of his collected works online. A little over half of those depict the adventures of Tarrin Kael.
Is anyone else tired just thinking about that number?
In other news, I'm done converting 130 of those chapters for my project. (17 more chapters of Shadow Walker and I'll be finished with everything non-Sennadar.) I thought I was doing pretty good. I kind of wish I hadn't counted now.
**= This assumes that Prologues and Epilogues are counted as separate chapters. For my project, they are.
Gnume- For a webdesign class I took, I had to build a website. I chose to make a website containing Fel's collected works, with HTML versions of every chapter in a separate document (as opposed to the whole-story-in-one-doc formats currently available). I submitted the project (prettied up index pages for the stories) and got an A, but converting all the chapters is taking a while.
Heustess- I don't plan to release anything until I've finished Shadow Walker and the Sennadar universe. At that point, I will post the entire project as a zip file on the forums (presuming they will take a file that big- I haven't gotten that far yet). The intention if the entire project is to have a website that people can download and view on their own computers for offline viewing. I've designed the folder structure so that a viewer won't need the index pages to read a particular story, which means they can delete the index pages and pictures to cut down on space.
The formatting for everything is done in CSS, using a linked external style sheet as much as possible. This is important because the files as they exist currently are designed for my personal taste. (Black background, white text, Helvetica font, etc.) But by changing something in a single place (within the CSS style sheet, which opens in notepad and reads as a text document) a reader can make changes to every chapter page at once. So if someone wants to use a different color background, or use a picture background, or doesn't like the font, they can easily change things to their own preferences.
I do not currently have plans to put the website on the Internet, but once I'm finished with it I'd only have to upload it to a host provider. I probably will at some point, if only because I put a lot of work into making the Index pages look professional and I want to use it on a resume to show that I can design a basic webpage. I just haven't thought about a host provider yet.
I hope to be done and releasing it within a month.
Mark, drop me a line if you need server space, environment or whatever. I have loads to spare at present so it would not be any bother to grant you an account.
Would be very pleased to be able to help spread the word about Fel and his works.
Ian
