Re: Lost & Found

Hey, several years ago I read a decent good book which I misplaced permanently shortly after. I haven't had any luck looking for it on my own and given the active reading population I figure it's worth a short asking if anyone here has heard of it. See the problem is I don't remember the title, the ...

Re: Links to Good Reading (Part 2)

SoL is the only website that I can think of off the top of my head that had any worth reading time travel stories. There was a decent Ranma Fanfiction story : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2574681/1/Exact_Change which was quite fun to read. How do you feel about Alternate history fics? There is this r...

Re: Unification, chapter 7.

Thanks for the update fel! Just curious, but have you ever heard of the Yir Yoront people? I read this fascinating article in a sociology class about how the introduction of steel axe gifts completely dismantled the Yir Yoront culture. The article is available online Steel Axes for Stone – Age Austr...

Re: Good Books (Scifi)

Golden Compass is a great book that I would recommend reading. Yaah, there is a good chance that the movie would butcher the book, however, New Line Cinema is not Walden Media so there is a much better chance of being made well. Also, the director tried to stay semi-faithful to the book even though ...

Re: Good Books (Scifi)

There is some disjointed story telling, but you get used to jumping back and forth from the past to present. Scott Lynch is the author, a...

Re: Fun With Faey tech

Just had another one of those flashes .... Since there aren't any of our human moral objections to nudity in the Faey culture, can you imagine what it was like when human males realized what was out on Civnet? I can only imagine how much time suddenly became wasted by the males of this planet stari...
